Jessica Lauren Elizabeth Taylor is a video artist. Her roots are in the Southern United States, born in Mississippi and bred in Florida on former Timucan land. Her work centers on themes of ritual, social politics and identity mythology of Black and Indigenous folks.

Taylor has performed and presented work at the Barbican Centre of Art, Chisenhale Gallery, Hebbel Am Ufer, Kunst-Werke Institute for Contemporary Art, Sophiensaele Theater, The Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art and The National Museum in Oslo. She has been a resident at Tate Museum of Modern Art, the Irish Museum for Modern Art and Haus der Kunst. Her writing has been commissioned by Vogue Germany and Billedkunst Art Journal alongside exhibition catalogues for Bergen Kunsthall and Hamburger Bahnhof.

Her film, Muttererde (2017), a series that calls for femme forms of ancestral history, has been screened in over ten countries. Her latest film, laying fire (2023), is currently touring. Taylor is based in Oslo, Norway.
